LAWYERS OF THE FIRM

J. W. GOODLOE, JR.
Commercial Law, Banking, Admiralty,
Real Estate, and Litigation

With more than 30 years experience, Bill Goodloe’s practice includes both commercial transactional matters and litigation. His transactional practice has involved the representation of a number of local and regional banks in commercial financing transactions, typically asset-based and often of a maritime nature, such as preferred ship mortgage loan transactions. This transaction work has paralleled the representation of shipyards, vessel owners, maritime interests, and large and small corporations in such matters as the negotiation, drafting and reviewing of vessel sales agreements, towage agreements, vessel construction and repair contracts, and voyage and time charter parties, as well as the federal documentation and licensing of vessels.

Bill’s transactional practice has led to the defense and prosecution of a broad spectrum of legal disputes on behalf of his clients. Beginning his litigation experience as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Mobile, Bill has handled a variety of lawsuits in state and federal courts relating to personal injury, wrongful death, and general business disputes, including Jones Act claims, collision and allision of vessels, shipyard and other construction contracts, fraud claims, insurance issues, real estate professional liability claims, property damage claims, and a variety of commercial litigation.

Bill is listed in The Best Lawyers in America published by Woodward/White.
