Zeb Inge is a partner whose practice concentrates
on corporate, real estate, and pass through entity tax and
business matters, as well as estate planning, particularly
with respect to closely held businesses and family succession
planning. He has extensive experience in counseling clients
in the formation, acquisition, operation and disposition of
business entities. He also advises clients with respect to
financing, commercial real estate, joint ventures, business
combinations, and probate administration of estates.
He was born in Mobile, Alabama, in
1949. He graduated in 1971 from the University of Virginia
with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Arts and
Sciences, and attended the University of Alabama School of
Law where he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1974. He attended
New York University School of Law in 1974-1975, where he
received a Masters of Laws in taxation (L.L.M.). Upon graduation
from New York University, he joined Vickers, Riis,
Murray and Curran and has been in the continuous practice
of law with the firm since that time. He is a former member
of the Board of Directors of the University of Alabama Federal
Tax Clinic, Inc. (1979-1981, 1988-1990) and the Board of
Directors of the Alabama Bar Institute Tax Clinic. He
has been listed for over ten years, and is currently listed,
in The Best Lawyers in America published by
Woodward/White in the practice areas of Corporate Law, Tax Law, and Trusts and Estates and has been
a frequent
lecturer at tax, business, corporate, and estate planning
seminars. He served as a member of the Board of Bar Examiners
for the Alabama State Bar administering the estate tax section of
the Bar Exam from 1995-1998 and served as a member of the
Task Force to Study the Alabama State Bar’s Rules and
Procedures Governing Admission. He served for a number
of years as a Trustee of the Julius T. Wright School for
Girls, Inc. (1981-1988), as its Chairman of the Board of
Trustees (1988), and as a Trustee of UMS-Wright Preparatory
School (1988-1996). He has served as a director of
The Explore Center, Inc. (Exploreum), the Country Club of
Mobile, and Mobile Opera, Inc. He is a member of the Mobile
and American Bar Associations (Section of Taxation, Real
Property Trust and Probate, and Administrative Law); and
the Alabama
State Bar (1974) (Section of Taxation, and Tax Section Limited
Liability Company/Limited Liability Partnership Committees).
