The core of the growth of Vickers Riis has been its business practice, first established by Marion Vickers prior to the formation of the firm. Vickers Riis has represented numerous Gulf Coast businesses, ranging from the small, closely-held family business to publicly traded corporations. Its contacts with these business clients have fostered the development of a sophisticated corporate, business, tax, and estate planning practice to serve these clients. The firm has particular experience in negotiating, structuring, and consummating business dispositions, acquisitions, and mergers. While all of the firm's attorneys are conversant with most areas of this practice, Zeb Inge and Ron Davis both have Masters degrees in taxation from New York University School of Law and this expertise complements the vast experience of Manson Murray and Jerry Curran in this area. The firm has experience in the handling of estate and gift tax planning issues, including the preparation of wills, trusts, family planning, succession planning, and administration and probate of estates, as well as controversies in court with respect to these issues.
